1. Who we are
Fork Labs Pvt Ltd ("Fork Labs", "we", "us") is a software studio registered in India and based in Delhi. We build web platforms, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and AI systems for our clients.
This policy explains what personal data we collect through forklabs.tech, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it. For anything not covered here, write to hello@forklabs.tech.
2. Data we collect
We keep collection deliberately small. We do not sell personal data, and we do not buy it.
- Contact details you submit: the name, company, email address and message you type into our contact form or send to us by email.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and timestamps, recorded by our hosting provider in standard server logs.
- Usage data: if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 records which pages you view, for how long, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser type, and the referring site. We see this only in aggregate reports. If you decline, none of this is collected.
- Client project data: any data you share with us during an engagement, handled under the terms of the separate agreement that covers that engagement.
3. Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and scope a possible project - this is the main reason we hold contact details.
- To deliver, support and invoice work you have engaged us for.
- To keep the site secure, diagnose faults and prevent abuse.
- To understand in aggregate which parts of the site are useful, so we can improve them - only with your consent to analytics cookies.
- To meet legal, accounting and tax obligations that apply to us in India.
Our lawful bases are your consent (when you contact us, or accept analytics cookies), the performance of a contract (when we are working for you), our legitimate interest in running and securing the site, and compliance with the law.
4. Processors and third parties
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our business - hosting and CDN providers, email providers, and, where a project calls for it, cloud and AI platform providers. They process data on our instructions only.
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to measure site usage when you consent to it. Google processes this data on our behalf under its data processing terms; we do not enable Google signals, advertising features or data sharing for ads. Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months. See google.com/policies/privacy for how Google handles data, and our Cookie Policy for the cookies involved.
Where a client project involves sending data to a large language model provider, we tell you which provider, and we agree in the engagement contract what may and may not be sent. We do not send client data to a model provider for training purposes.
We may disclose data where we are legally required to do so, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
5. International transfers
Our providers may store or process data outside India, including in the EU and the United States. Where that happens we rely on the provider's standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
- Contact enquiries: up to 24 months from the last message, then deleted.
- Server logs: typically 30 to 90 days, per our hosting provider's retention settings.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics, then deleted automatically.
- Client project records: for the duration of the engagement plus the period required by Indian tax and accounting law.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a given purpose. You can also withdraw consent at any time - for analytics, use the Cookie settings link in the site footer. Withdrawing does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Send the request to hello@forklabs.tech. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the relevant data protection authority.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls scoped to the people who need them, and provider-managed encryption at rest. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
9. Children
This site is aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the business or the law changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page before they take effect.
